Description
A simple quicky that might make them smile if they don’t cancel you first.
Effect: The magician shows a crumpled silk, placing this inside a tumbler. ”This” he says, ”represents a prediction.” A pack of cards is shown, and one card is selected. The magician says that he will call upon the spirit of Confucius to reveal his prediction. The member of the audience is asked to name his card.
Silk is removed from the tumbler and displayed. ”There you are” says the magician, ”there is the name of your card, but in CHINESE” If you could read Chinese you would immediately see that this is indeed the name of your card!
Wait a moment though” he continues, ”maybe you would like me to translate it for you!” The hands holding the silk come momentarily together; immediately they are moved apart again, and it is seen that the Chinese writing on the silk is now transformed into English, revealing correctly the name of the chosen card! The change is quick and almost automatic.
