Description
This effect was invented by R. N. (Norm) Menge and sold as the Egyptian Water Box by Norm’s business partner U.F. Grant c. 1955. Later that year, in the UK, Harry Stanley sold the same item and renamed it Neptune’s Chest.
It is a wonderful production item that can produce and vanish items including liquids in a convincing manner with nothing added or taken away.
Includes:
- The Egyptian Water Box
- A plastic glass
- Six different sized red silks (these show some wear which is fine for this effect, I just use three in the video) (bonus).
- Some red food coloring (bonus).
- A small jug with a long spout perfect to pour some water into the box (bonus).
Effect: Here is a great routine you can do out of the box:
- The box is shown clearly empty.
- You then reach in and retrieve six different sized red silks and place them on your table.
- Your pour in some water from the jug.
- With a wave, the box is shown empty again.
- You then wave the red silks over the box.
- And now reach in and retrieve a glass of wine.
The box is shown empty and then silks are produced from it. Water is then poured into the box and the water vanishes. A glass of wine is then produced from the box. The wine is poured back into the box and vanishes.
Many, many more effects are possible with this ingenious box. It should be noted that no covers of any type are used to keep the liquids from spilling. There are no moving, tipping or hinged gimmicks. This is NEW. The box measures 7″ x 5″ x 5.5″ and is well made and attractively decorated.
