Description
Spaceman Sam is a simple but fun routine to do for younger children based on an earlier Supreme item called “On Guard “. It is easy to perform and reset and will have the kids shouting out asking you to turn it around.
With all the talk about going to Mars these days this is probably an item that is now back in style, though you’ll probably want to create your own patter as the included patter is a little dated.
Includes:
- Spaceman Sam
- Spaceship
- Metal Stand
Effect: Another surprising twist on a standard Supreme sucker trick, to enable the children’s entertainer to add something new and novel to his program, with the minimum of effort. A large cut-out of a spaceship is seen. Beside it stands ‘Spaceman Sam’, dressed in a BRIGHT RED spacesuit, space helmet etc., Sam enters the spaceship. You lift the apparatus up holding the spaceship in one hand and the figure of Sam in the other.
The figure is brought behind the spaceship and out again then a change of color of Sam’s spacesuit is seen. It’s now BLUE! How HAS he changed his suit so quickly ? Is it the result of radiation? The children are not fooled and are sure that you have merely turned the picture over!
The fun waxes fast and furious as the color of the spaceman’s uniform changes back and forwards from red to blue and back again. “Show us the other side”, the children shout!
Finally, you DO turn the picture around. There IS a picture on the other side. It’s a picture of Sam wearing another space uniform. But hey! IT’S THE BRIGHT YELLOW ONE WHICH HE WEARS WHEN GOING TO MARS!
Now the children want to see behind the spaceship, imagining that you have an extra figure there. NO! When the spaceship is turned around it is seen that all you have there is a MARTIAN MONSTER, brilliant in FLORESCENT GREEN AND YELLOW!!!
