Description
According to the instructions supplied this is a classic effect in magic dating back to the 1920’s and revived again in the 1950’s with the old snake tin. Tarbell mentioned a variation of it apparently too. Most recently this effect is clearly the same as Eric Mason’s Pandora! so that is most likely the inspiration for this version.
Jack in the Box is a great effect and after a twenty minutes of practicing you should have a really eye popping effect that is ready to go anytime.
Notice: The deck is normal but I’ve included a deck of Jerry’s Nugget’s Modern Feel ($12 retail) and a mini black sharpie so that you don’t mind having the card signed. The effect is stronger with a signed card for sure.
Effect: A signed, chosen card leaps out of a wood crafted, miniature “Jack in the Box” which is only a quarter the size of the card and there aren’t any creases on the card.
Sounds incredible? Yes it looks incredible too, but it’s a simple yet astonishing climax to any card trick.
There’s no forcing or duplicate cards and it does not need any preparation other than a simple set-up of the box.
Astounding!
