Wild Magic really cashed in on the Harry Potter theme in the early 2000’s. But I guess if you were selling magic in England (or pretty much anywhere) in the 2000’s Harry Potter would probably have been the best thing that happened to magic for a long time 🙂
I think for the young kids a series of these sorts of effects dressed up with some references to Harry Potter could go down very well.
Effect: Two jumbo cards are freely shown, fronts and backs, to the audience. Each of the faces have a picture of a white owl. The backs of both cards are red. Nothing else is in the performer’s hands. The cards are placed together and piece of “parchment” type letter slowly and mysteriously appears from between the two cards. The letter is addressed to the birthday boy/girl. Inside is a very special and magical message.
