Description
I am long past the time where I will learn to do either the Cups and Balls or the Chop Cup. However, if I were to perform the Chop Cup, this beautiful cup offered by Wellington Enterprises would be the one I would choose. The design, features, and craftsmanship are perfect 🙂
Effect: Al “Chop Chop” Wheatley first offered his ingenious cup in 1957 and since then many variations have been produced. The new Wellington version offers some unique properties which I have always wanted in a Chop Cup.
Ever since first seeing the Chop Cup performed in a magic shop in the early ’60’s, it has remained a favorite in my close-up performances – yet, I always felt the design of the cup had not been perfected for maximum effect. Opinions on the perfect cup vary widely. I’m proud to offer what is for me a perfected design -one which maximizes the impact of the trick. My desire for the perfect cup has finally been achieved. It is with pride that I offer this new cup to the magic community.
Features:
- The cup was designed around the final load hall and is only large enough to just contain it.
- Once loaded, each of the final balls can be held in the cup allowing the cup to be lifted without revealing their presence yet easily released at the right moment.
- The gimmicked crocheted ball has been designed to be adjustable allowing you to set the strength as you wish.
- The gimmick in the cup is located off-center allowing you to roll the gimmicked ball in and out of the cup. The cup is inconspicuously marked so the performer can easily locate the gimmick.
- This Wellington cup has been manufactured in a unique way, combining precision machining with metal spinning. The inside bottom is flat and has no “bump.”
- The Wellington Chop Cup is offered in both a lightweight aluminum version and a heavyweight brass model. The high polish of the cup has been protected with a tough and durable clear-coat. I have been developing this design for many years and hope you too will find its unique features impossible to resist.
- Even the black velveteen bag it comes in has been improved to provide a workable 10 x 8 inch working surface.
