Description
Larry Becker created the first Chameleon Chest released by Larry and Viking. However, the Mighty Mini manufactured by Magic Wagon with the help of Tony Curtis is breathtaking!
The box is small, silent, very solid and beautiful to behold. The original one is still fine, but unless you are dealing with a lot of choices my preferred chest is the Mighty Mini and due to it’s size I feel it is even more versatile than the original.
As with many clever utility items once you have the perfect prop coming up with the perfect routine to do it justice. Larry includes six routines in the detailed instructions and any of them will work perfectly though in most cases you will need to provide some readily available extras like small golf pencils and pads.
For my routine I decided to base the routine on Mark Elsdon’s Guaranteed Jackpot. I found some perfect sized plastic numbers over at Amazon and came up with the following effect which I will video soon. I think it works very well with this beautiful box and I hope you like it.
Includes:
- The beautiful Mighty Mini Chameleon Chest + key
- 60 1″ red/white plastic numbers (bonus.)
- Small black felt bag to hold the numbers (bonus.)
- Used lottery ticket – use a current one when performing
- Full original instructions.
Effect: A small wooden box is shown and opened and inside is found a lottery ticket and a black felt bag. The box is then closed and the performer shows a slot in the back of the box. The contents of the black felt bag are tipped out and 100 numbered disks are shown with numbers from 1-60. The performer asks the spectator to replace them in the bag and mix them up.
The performer asks if anyone is feeling lucky tonight and one or more people are selected and they are handed the small black back and asked to remove a number from the bag without looking at it and to hold it covered and place it into the slot in the back of the small box. After six numbers are chosen the performer stops.
The performer states that he was trying to emulate the secrecy of real selection process and if indeed the spectators are lucky they will be able to match some of the numbers chosen with the lottery ticket that was introduced at the very beginning.
The performer hands the box to one of the spectators to open up and they remove the six numbers one by one – each time checking to see if they match with the ticket.
The first one matches, and the second, and the third – now things are getting interesting … and the forth number matches. Surely the last two cannot match … but yes the fifth and sixth match too. So the spectators are indeed very lucky and the performer gives them the lottery ticket with the drawing tonight. Knowing they will do spectacularly 🙂
