Description
This is one of my favorite Magic Wagon effects based on T.A. Waters’ amazing Box Office. You can read more about the original version released in 2012 when I first purchased it here.
When I obtained The Man Who Knows by Kaymar Magic I realized that almost all of the posters featured were also featured in The Porcupine and so I devised this routine using the Mind Paintings II props and the Kaymar Magic effect which I’m quite happy with 🙂
Includes:
- The full original Mind Paintings II as released with original art and instructions.
- The Man Who Knows by Kaymar Magic (bonus)
- Custom printed artwork and predictions based on the Kaymar postcards (bonus)
- Full Original Instructions for both effects.
The effect is easy to do and basically self-working as long as you follow the sequence of actions and adds a little more depth to the standard Box Office effect which is normally over a little too quickly.
Effect: After either pointing to the Alexander poster on the wall in the Porcupine or the large Postcard I say. “Did you know that Alexander – The Man Who Knows – was banned from The Porcupine? Let me explain why …”
“During the Golden Age of Magic these famous magicians: Harry Houdini, Howard Thurston, Harry Kellar, Von Arx and Alexander, used to visit The Porcupine regularly. It was a real happening place 🙂
I’m going to place each poster into an envelope and shuffle them so you will have no idea which is which. Before you choose one I’m going to hand you my prediction to hold. Now would you choose any envelope. Ok. Do you want to change your mind? Are you sure you want to stick with that one? Ok let’s see what you have …. Alexander, and of please show what my prediction says … Alexander!”
“Alexander’s mind was so powerful he would always make you see what he whats you to see. Let’s try something without Alexander this time. I’m going to place this prediction of Alexander inside the box, and cover it with the tray. Now choose any one of these other magicians. Houdini? Ok now lift the tray and open the prediction – can you see it has now changed from Alexander to Houdini?”
“The reality is my prediction was always Houdini, but through the power of his mind Alexander made you think it was him instead. This is why Alexander was banned from the Porcupine – his mind control was so strong that he was influencing all of the magic and worse, kept getting free drinks!”
“You might ask how did I know you were going to choose Houdini? Well maybe Alexander wasn’t the only man who knows …”
