Description

Although this was released by Francois in 2010 this is the first time I have seen The Wishing Temple up close and it is a real beauty.  What Francois has created here is not only the most beautiful version of that old chestnut The Kenard Mystery Box but he has added a very clever feature that not only makes the whole effect easier to perform but it is now even more amazing.

There are only 12 of these made and this is one of the later units (2015) because Francois changed the selection of chips from 3 x 3 colors (9 chips) to 2 x 4 colors (8 chips) and in the process made the selection and management of the chips trivial.

This is now as close to perfection as you can get and I know you will love this 🙂

Effect: This is special edition of the Ring Cabinet that was first released by Francois in 2004.  The Wishing Temple is limited to twelve sets with a new design and new instructions and patter. The props are housed in a superb wooden chest made of oak plywood. This chest has been lacquered and had received a high gloss finish. A vintage oriental decal has been applied on the lid.

The spectator is woven a tale by the magician, about a rich Mandarin and a Wishing Temple. To illustrate his patter the magician introduces a splendid red lacquered chest which contains a small replica of a Wishing Temple, with a prayer mill, a ceremony stick and nine colored wishing chips. All the props to perform a Taoist wishing ceremony. The spectator is asked to roll the prayer mill on the table. The prayer mill stops with the green color on top. The magician asks him to take a green wishing chip. No force, this is a free will.

Then the magician takes a green wishing chip too, explaining that this chip represent the secret wish of the spectator, and he also takes some others colored chips. He passes all the chips on the ceremony stick and insert it inside the cabinet by the front slots.

Then the magician closes the Temple doors and he draws the stick out of it. All the wishing chips can be heard falling inside the Temple. He does some magic gesture upon the cabinet and he draws the stick back inside the cabinet by the side holes.

After a few moments, he opens again the Temple doors, and the green wishing chip is seen on the ceremony stick. It is the only one that have penetrated the stick inside the secret walls of the Temple. The spectator’s secret wish will certainly be granted by the Taoist gods 🙂
